Role: After School Nanny/Tutor
Location: Regent’s Park, NW8
Days: Monday – Friday
Hours: 3pm – 7pm
Care for: G8 and G6

French/Swedish family looking for a French speaking after school Nanny/Tutor to care for our 2 daughters, aged 6 and 8, with a focus on their educational support, language development and other activities. We live by Regent’s Park (NW8) and the girls go to school nearby. As parents, we both work full time (with ad hoc work travel), and the role would work hand in hand with a full time housekeeper/nanny.
We are looking for someone who is fluent in both English and French, and who has got 5 + years’ experience of working with and teaching children, with a good understanding of the UK curriculum and an ability to incorporate it in activities, reading and play at home in a proactive and engaging way.
The role would require you to pick the girls up from school at 3.30pm and to work through until 7pm. Some flexibility around times expected in the holidays and on an ad hoc basis throughout term time for additional baby sitting or additional hours when the parents are travelling. Living in North London is an advantage.
Interviewing now for an immediate start.
As part of the day to day, the role would involve:
- Assisting the girls with their homework, with a good understanding of the school curriculum
- Engaging them in educational activities and play, linked to the work they are doing in school
- Taking the girls to their after school sports activities (1 or 2 days a week)
- Proactive planning and coordination of additional learning opportunities such as concerts, theatre, museums, exhibitions and similar events
- Monitoring the girls’ progress and providing regular updates to the parents
- Encouraging the girls in their solo reading, and supporting their music practice
- Helping to develop the children’s independence, for example, ensuring the children take responsibility for their bags, books and equipment as they prepare for the next school day
- Approaching the time spent with the girls in an enthusiastic and engaging way, acting as a role model
For this role, you have to:
• Have 5 + years’ experience working as a Nanny/Tutor, with experience of teaching children
• Be eligible to work in the UK
• Have good contactable references
• Possess an up to date UK DBS check.
