Working for a boutique travel operator the role would be ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their accountancy career. The role will have exposure to and full operational ownership of a number of key finance processes. It is a great opportunity to get well rounded, in depth, accountancy experience in an exciting industry and working environment.
Principal Duties/Tasks and responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Finance Manager and finance assistant to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters.
- Assisting with the accounts payable process.
- Maintaining supplier accounts on our accountancy software (Xero)
- Ensuring swift payment of invoices.
- Significant interaction with all the other head office staff.
- Maintaining the accounts system, including:
- Reconciling bank payments.
- Creating and sending out sales invoices.
- Ensuring correct coding of entries.
- Assisting in providing management information through the preparation of spreadsheets, reports and correspondence as required.
- Providing financial support to team members.
- Ad Hoc administrative and analytical tasks to support the Finance Manager.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following qualities:
- Self-motivated, with a strong desire to take on ownership of tasks.
- Previous experience with MS Excel, with an enthusiasm to develop further skills.
- Impeccable organisation, time management and attention to detail.
- Confident, with good communication and written skills.
- A great team attitude.
The successful candidate can expect to gain a real understanding of everything that goes in to running a successful and independent travel business as well as gaining invaluable all-round accounts experience.
