Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Youth Worker (Annualised Hours) to join our team in London. The successful applicant will join us on a part time fixed term contract basis and will receive a competitive salary of £12.34 per hour.

We are looking to recruit a Youth Worker (Annualised Hours) in order to support with evening youth club sessions and half term programs on an annualised hour contract. The post will be ending in November 2022 with 230 hours worked between now and then as the candidate will be working during the school holidays for up to 6 weeks. The contract offers flexibility with periods of non-working. This way of working will provide you with a guaranteed income for this period. You will be required to be available on Monday and Wednesday evenings and school holidays (the candidate will be working during the school holidays for up to 6 weeks).
This role involves engaging with young people and providing a safe space for young people to participate in structured recreational activities. The successful candidate will have the ability to motivate, guide and raise aspirations with children and young people.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and experience required by our ideal Youth Worker (Annualised Hours)
- Understanding of the issues of vulnerable and hard to reach young people with proven experience in the youth work field, preferably with a JNC qualification or equivalent.
- Ability to engage and communicate well with young people, colleagues and parents.
- Knowledge of child protection, health and safety and other youth work related issues.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge and experience required by our ideal Youth Worker (Annualised Hours)
- experience of working with young people in Hackney.
- MIDAS minibus trained or willingness to learn.
The successful applicant will need to be subject to an enhanced disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) before any appointment can be confirmed.
