An amazing position has become available for an experienced Head Housekeeper/Organiser and Wonderful Cook to maintain and run a luxury private estate in a beautiful resort area of Idaho, Western United States of America. The employee will be responsible for the daily up keep of the property, which should be kept to the highest standard. The estate is owned by a businessman who travels regularly so he is only in part time residence. A part time Housekeeper and Caretaker is also employed.
The duties are as follows:
General cleaning and maintenance of the property when the Housekeeper is off and working alongside her 2 days a week.
Looking after and organising the employer’s wardrobe
Sourcing and arranging flesh flowers within the house
Preparing healthy meals for the employer on a daily basis
Preparing healthy meals for up to 10/12 visiting guests on an occasionally basis (more regularly in the summer)
Purchasing provisions for the house
Assisting the Caretaker with the care of 2 much loved dogs
Organising and overseeing contractors when required
Ensuring the smooth running of the residence
Driving the employer on occasions to and from a social engagements and look after his cars
Hire and manage extra staff when entertaining on a larger scale
The employer is a very tidy person himself. He is a traditionalist, adores his dogs so applicants must love them too, likes the house to look aesthetically pleasing on the eye and have fresh flower arrangements displayed. When the employer is at the property alone the mood is informal, however when he is entertaining socially or on business he will expect more formal service. There are no children in this household so childcare experience is sadly not relevant.
My client is looking for a Head Housekeeper/Organiser/Cook who has an eye for detail, is self motivated and will use their initiative. They must be a confident driver, a vehicle will be provided for work use and outside work with prior permission. This position would suit applicants who enjoys all 4 seasons and will appreciate the truly stunning location, a ski community in the winter and its glorious serenity in the summer. However there is plenty of local culture to keep one amused.
In general the Head Housekeeper/Organiser/Cook will be given 2 days off a week. Self contained accommodation will be provided and salary to reflect the right employee’s experience.
My client will consider a single employee, a Couple who are able to offer extra skills or one employee with a Partner who will find their own employment. All applicants must have a passport or green card/visa to work legally in the US.
Written and spoken English are essential and a full, clean driving licence.
It would be helpful if applicants have worked previously in a British household and are familiar with their traditional values.
Applicants should have a minimum 3 years experience within a similar private household and verifiable written reference letters.
