WINE SHOP IN SHOREDITCH SEEKS NEW SALES Manger!
We have just been shortlisted by Decanter as 1 of the top 5 wine shops in the country and we've just expanded in to wholesale this month.
The Wine Vault is part of The Grocery which has been open 10 years and serves around 6000 customers a week with organic and natural groceries and has a team of 35. We opened the Wine Vault in the adjoining property 15 months ago. We hold 400 Bins and around 350 spirits as well as 150 great Beers and Ales. We specialise in organic wines with 70% natural and certified and have this week installed a Whiskey wall which will hold around 100 whiskies.
We are looking for someone who's energetic, intelligent, likes to work as part of a team and is a great communicator.
The job will require applicants to:
- thoroughly get to know all beverages sold
- Place wine and drink orders and maintain stock levels (training will be provided),
- Help to maintain the wine list and attend wine fairs here and in France, Italy and Spain as and when required.
- Ability to follow clear instructions and maintain standards
- Adhere to Health and Safety policy, responsibilities and obligations
- To get to know the regulars and their names/ likes etc
- To provide the clientele with great service so their expectations are exceeded!
- manage a small team and staff Rota
- promote and grow evening trade,
- promote and grow our new wine club which launched last month with 174 subscribers.
- Manage booking and pop up events
Ideal Candidate:
- have WSET Level 2
- have a real love of wine,
- At least 2 years experience as a restaurant/ bar manager: retail experience a bonus but not requirement as training for this can be provided,
- Immaculate presentation and grooming
- Be able to understand and speak English fluently
- be available for shift work, shared within your team 7 days a week.
Pay
We pay competitively and there is the added bonus of selling wines on our wholesale business to new customers which can provide you with a very decent on going commission.
Starting salary £26,000
Wholesale commissions can double your pay.
Holiday
28 days paid holiday per year.
Timescale for employment
We are looking to find the right candidate before the end of August. With a start date anytime between now and then.
