What we are looking for:
Do you have a characteristic that you feel could lead to negative attitudes from others, or differential and unfair treatment (e.g. Age, gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, physical illness / disability, appearance or a mental health problem)?
Aim:
The aim of this study is to test a new ‘responding to stigma, prejudice and discrimiantion’ questionnaire and to look at how different responses are associated with peoples’ well-being.
What’s involved?
The study will involve completing a one-off online survey, which will ask you questions about your experiences of negative attitudes and behaviours from others and how you have responded to such experiences. You will also be asked questions about your levels of self-esteem and psychological well-being. The study will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
All participants will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Amazon voucher. You will be given the option to complete some further questions one week later, where you will be entered into a second prize draw to win a £25 Amazon voucher. Participants must provide their email address to be eligible for the prize draws.
The study is confidential and your data will be anonymised. Only members of the research team will have access to your data.
Criteria to participate:
1. Identifying as having a characteristic that leads to anticipated or direct negative behaviours or attitudes from others.
2. Being over the age of 18.
