Start Date: as soon as possible for ideally one month, which could be extended.
Days and Hours: Flexible on number of nights 8.00am – 8.00pm, see notes below.
Oscar 17, has just been discharged after a major surgery and needs an experienced carer who will assist him during the night. Oscar is a bright young man who has cerebral palsy and he is a wheelchair user. He currently receives all his food and medication via a gastrostomy tube.
We are looking for a kind, confident and sensitive waking night carer to provide 1:1 support during the night. Oscar requires assistance with repositioning, administering his medication via Peg and undertaking all his personal care needs. You need to have experience with gastrostomy management. This position also includes supporting Oscar with his morning routine, getting ready for a busy day at school.
Ideally you will work for at least one month, but we will consider candidates available for a shorter period, as long as you can start straight away.
If you are confident with complex medical care, personal care and have experience in a waking night role we would love to hear from you.
