At Advance we support people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities in their home or out in the community.
We currently have a customer in the Newham area that is looking for a Befriender for either every weekend or every other weekend. The customer would like someone that will accompany her to places of interest. These places may include art galleries, museums or perhaps the theatre.
Just committing to a couple of hours per week really does make a difference to someone who Longs for friendships.
Do you have a caring and sensitive manner with a non judgmental approach?
Are you good at listening and communicating ?
Are you reliable and able to commit to a few hours a week ?
Are you patient and empathetic ?

A satisfactory DBS check, references, medical and evidence of your right to abode in the UK will be required before you can commence volunteering with Advance. The costs of the DBS and medical (if required) will be covered by Advance.
Advance is regulated by the Care Quality Commission and we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people we support. You will be required to provide evidence of right to work. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be covered by Advance.
