WEB DESIGNER and DEVELOPER, Volunteer
Awaiting Eyes Foundation (AEF) is a non-profit organization working for the welfare of orphan children. Founded in 2006 Awaiting Eyes Foundation provides humanitarian relief for victims of natural disasters. Awaiting Eyes Foundation is a registered UK Charity (No: 1117222).
Summary:
A Web Developer is responsible for the layout, visual appearance and usability of the corporate website
Primary responsibilities:
• Designing, developing and maintaining the corporate website and ensuring that it is visually effective and easy to access
• Working independently as well as a part of the communication’s team to update the website with new project details and volunteer information while working with tight timeframes and ensuring that entire website is in line with the corporate identity
• Identifying opportunities to improve the quality of the existing website
• Testing the website for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions
Additional responsibilities:
• MANDATORY FUNDRAISING AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK
• Assisting and completing any other tasks required by the CEO and other managers
Knowledge and skill requirements:
• Reasonable academic record or relevant equivalent experience and a creative outlook toward design projects
• Knowledge of Web Design software such as Dreamweaver, PhotoShop, Java Script and Flash
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working conditions:
Working conditions are as normal for an office environment
Work schedule:
• Test the website daily and identify any technical problems
• Upload the site onto a server and register it with different search engines
• Cooperate with other departments
• IT help desk and troubleshoot
• Any other ad hoc duties
OFFICE WORKING TIME: 9AM TO 5PM, MONDAY TO FRIDAY.
Bring your skills and experience and meet the like-minded. Please note this is a voluntary unpaid role.
Initial commitment of 3 days a week for the first two months, thereafter - 2 days a week (flexible).
In return, volunteers often gain experience of an office environment, and learn new skills or develop existing ones.
