Bach Background
A ‘Bach’ is small beach hut found on the coats of New Zealand and Australia.
The Bach brings cool beach vibes to East London.
We focus our menus on healthy, fresh produce and are a destination café for food intolerances and dietary requirements. We have an interesting set menu with dishes using kimchi, figs, mackerel and lots of eggs and avocado! And a changing counter menu that gives our chefs the freedom to create interesting and beautiful salads and Savory and sweet Bakes on a daily basis. Suggestions from all staff are always welcome!
We are very proud of our coffee and its’ quality; we use All Press Coffee Roasters to make the usual coffees and some others; turmeric lattes, matcha lattes etc. Our customers are loyal dog lovers, entrepreneurs, creatives and have become good friends. We do around 250-350 covers at peak times.
What’s needed!
We are looking for a capable and efficient kitchen porter who can support a small kitchen team during busy services. We would like someone who can take responsibility of their section including organisation and cleanliness and understands how important they are for the café’s smooth running.
Support the chefs and whole café operations – keep the place going!
Wash, dry and store crockery cutlery and glassware
Operate and load an automatic sanitising machine, including soaps and sanitisers
Love the machine – keep it clean
Help the chefs with service by keeping apparatus organised and in their places
Help out from time to time with food preparation
Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment – sweeping, mopping, removing refuse and re-cyclables.
Good knowledge of basic food hygiene and health and safety.
For all our staff…
