We are an English-French family (English father, French mother) with two daughters, aged 9 and 7, looking for a live-in au pair to start in late August.
We live in Kew, South West London. Both our girls go to the local day school.
As our au pair, you will work 30 hours per week (a fixed timetable). You will:
- wake girls in the morning (3-4 times per week), help dress, breakfast and walk them to school (five minutes)
- pick up girls late afternoon (3.30pm or later, depending on their activities), take them home or to friends, help with reading and other activities, cook their evening meal
- help to tidy their bedrooms and do their laundry
- some light housework (tidy kitchen, ironing) - we have a weekly cleaner who does most of the housework.
We are a happy and friendly family, liking music, art, books, walking, cycling and home cooking. If you can play a musical instrument or are artistic, that would be great. Our children speak both French and English.
Kew is a very pleasant part of London. We are close to the river Thames, for walks and bicycling, and close to the world famous botanical gardens at Kew. It is 40 minutes from central London or 25 minutes from South Kensington by underground.
You will meet many other au pairs in the area and you will be able to take an English course or other course during the day time (you will always be free between 9am and 2.30pm).
Your evenings and weekends will be free (apart from occasional evening baby-sitting - 2-3 times per month).
You will have your own bedroom, wi-fi and travelcard to travel to central London.
We have employed other au pairs in previous years, who we can put you in contact with if you like.
We will pay you 100 pounds per week.
