We are looking for a new part time nanny. We live in Highgate, less than 10 minutes’ walk from Highgate Tube Station. Ideally you would start at the beginning of June.
We are three lively, confident girls aged 12, 10 and.
8. We need someone who can:
• Walk the 10 yr old and 8 yr old home from school three afternoons a week.
• Be like a second mum to us while mum is at work: in other words, make us get the stuff done that we have to do, and then have fun with us.
• Help us with our homework.
• Encourage us to practise the piano and trombone – probably not at the same time!
• Supervise playdates.
• Cook dinner for us.
• Play, laugh, get involved, and above all take an interest in us and the things we like.
• Chivvy us to do our bit to help around the house.
Our previous nannies have all had other passions, such as acting or singing, or have been part time postgraduate students looking to find some additional income.
The essentials:
• The essential hours are Monday: 3.45pm-7.15pm. Tuesday: 3.45pm-8.15pm. If you wanted a third afternoon it could be either Thursday or Friday and the hours would be 3.45pm-7.45pm.
• You would also have first refusal on evening babysitting, if this would be of interest.
• You need to have worked with this age group before and to have checkable references.
• You must be a non-smoker.
• You must speak and write English fluently – you will need to be able to help with English homework.
• If you are able to drive, that would be useful – but it is not essential.
• You should be prepared to get involved in family life. Mum always says that she never asks our nanny to do anything she doesn’t do herself, which is her way of saying you’ll need to empty the dishwasher, put away laundry etc. Basically, you need to use your initiative!
• Mum pays £12 gross an hour (from which she deducts any tax and NICs).
Please do NOT email unless you fit the criteria above – it is a waste of your time and Mum’s! But if you are interested and think you fit the bill then we really look forward to hearing from you.
