Warehouse Operative Position – Furniture Rental Company.
This position involves planning, heavy lifting, organising and control of the furniture in our warehouse.  You must have an eagle eye for detail to ensure the furniture is maintained to a high standard at all times.
Duties include:
Preparing furniture for delivery jobs and checking returns of furniture from collection jobs. For example, the numbers are correct and the items are in good condition.
Noting and reporting discrepancies, damages, cleaning issues relating to the furniture and materials received back from collection jobs.
Organizing the stock in the warehouse and monitoring to ensure the stock control system is up to date.
Checking incoming deliveries to warehouse and ensuring that company policy is followed in respect of deliveries of new furniture.
Assisting with regular stock checks and Bi-annual stock take.
Keeping the loading bays and warehouse safe and tidy at all the time.
Maintain the high standard of the warehouse.
Working in a high pressure and demanding environment.
Able to do full cover of any team member’s absence / holiday from Warehouse Operation both outbound and inbound.
Assisting as a driver / porter on jobs if required.
Ensuring that company policies are adhered to at all times, ensuring delivery of good service and quality products to our clients.
Must be willing to do overtime, to get the job done on time.
We expect you to:

Be physically fit, as much of the job is labour intensive - moving furniture around the warehouse and loading and unloading the vans.
To prepare furniture for jobs, and loading from a pick list. This involves handling many different components from sofas, tables, bars and chairs.

To be organised, flexible and able to multi-task as multiple jobs will need preparing at once.
To have reasonable DIY skills to undertake any basic repairs required of equipment, working with warehouse manager and our handyman.
Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties in the warehouse.
Be proactive with ability to work on own initiative.
Be a team player. Show ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Be honest and reliable.

Follow health and safety regulations.

Be able and willing to stay late to finish jobs in busy periods.

Always looking for ways to improve the company and our products.
To understand the need for punctual timekeeping.
Good command of English language and communication skills are essential.

Beneficial but not essential

Clean Driving licence; aged 25 or over due to vehicle insurance purposes.
experience in driving 3.5 tonne Luton Sprinter.

Salary: 20,000 / Annual - Dependent on experience.
