Warehouse Assistant / Senior Operative Supervisor – Design Retail sector
Job Title: Warehouse Assistant / Senior Operative Supervisor
Contract: Flexible working. 10 hrs + a week
Pay: £8-12ph initially (depending on experience)
Start date: Immediate
Small, design led homeware and lighting company based in East London near Victoria park is seeking a Warehouse Assistant / Senior Operative Supervisor to help oversee all aspects of logistics and stock management for the business
This is an on-going position with the potential to move into a permanent full time role in the same position, or a more senior role. We have flexibility with the level of seniority with this position and can either a more junior level position for someone with approximately one year of similar experience, or someone with more comprehensive experience looking to take a more supervisory role
As Warehouse Assistant / Senior Operative Supervisor you will required to work alongside and support / supervise the current Warehouse Operative in the running of the stock room; packing, quality checking all orders; all aspects of the goods in process; using our internal system to manage stocks and inventory.
The role would ideally suit a keen self-starter who is able to manage their own time efficiently, but also follow direction. As a small business retailing mid -high end, bespoke products, the successful candidate will have to have a keen eye for detail.
Initially we’re looking for someone to work on a part time basis, but there will be a need to be flexible during busy periods. This role would ideally suit someone looking to work alongside other work commitments/whilst studying, or wanting an element of flexibility while taking the opportunity to learn the insides of small business.
Key Responsibility:
• Assists in receiving and verifying accuracy of incoming deliveries.
• Sorting and placing materials on racks, shelves
• Pulling and distributing stock in order to fulfil orders.
• Quality checking all products dispatched.
• Preparing stock for delivery, as required.
• Maintain accurate stock count and submit errors/breakages to management.
• Responsible for booking and confirming all deliveries, this will include large B2B orders and daily B2C deliveries.
• After training is given this role will also require for bespoke items to be assembled for dispatch.

Personal Specification:
• Previous experience of being a Warehouse Assistant is preferred.
• Attention to detail is a must
• Strong organisational skills.
• An idea of what high quality service looks like
• Basic maths skills and being literate in English is important
• Ability to use computer systems.
• You must be health and safety aware.
• Flexibility with hours
• Confident and willing to work a high calibre and manage own time effectively
Role Potential
As a small company this position will allow for the successful applicant to form a full understanding of the operational aspects of the business and have in-depth product knowledge, this will then allow for the opportunity to take on more responsibility in a similar overarching role in a full time position, or look to secure a position with the client facing team.
