Job Description:
AVE Ltd has a requirement for Warehouse Operatives in our warehouse near Hanger Lane.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
• Unloading and loading product from vehicles and checking for accuracy in accordance with agreed processes and procedure;
• Carry out all tasks in a safe way adhering to Health and Safety procedures;
• Carry out any other duties within the warehouse as required;
• Ensuring equipment and customer stock is handled and looked after correctly to a good standard of housekeeping
• Ensuring that outgoing goods are loaded onto the correct vehicles with correct labels
• Cleaning of common areas
• Stacking of products in warehouse
• Stock control: Checking goods coming in and going out
• Testing stock, processing stock
• Packaging Item
• Quality control; identifying faults with items/ ensuring all accessories supplied
• Checking condition of goods
• Palletising items
• Performing stock checks
• Receiving and displaying goods
• General maintenance jobs, handy man skills a plus
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
• Good state of physical fitness, stamina and strength is a must
• Previous warehouse experience, references required
• The ability to read, understand and follow directions/instructions
• Have appropriate hand, eye and foot co-ordination to effectively use mechanical handling equipment
• The ability to move product which may require bending, stretching, stooping, steeping, reaching or lifting in line with Health and Safety regulations;
• Good communications skills and Fluent in written and verbal English
• Forklift skills/ certificate desirable, but not essential
• Ability and flexibility to work different shifts, including nights, days and weekends as required.
• The ability to follow work procedures and safety rules
• The ability to count accurately and perform simple Maths calculations
• A good eye for detail
• Accuracy at a consistent level
• The ability to work both as an individual and as part of a team
• To be able to achieve daily targets and weekly deadlines under supervision
• To use your initiative
• To be available for overtime when required
• Friendly, flexible and positive attitude are also essential in this position
