Hi!
Oxjam is a one day music festival which is organised entirely by volunteers, putting on lots of gigs in different venues on the same day. There are 41 Oxfam festivals taking place this year over the UK!
This year will be the 7th Oxjam Islington taking place on and around Upper Street, Angel, and it will happen on Saturday 14th October 2022. All money raised from ticket sales goes directly to Oxjam. This means that everyone involved, from the people organising it to the musicians playing, doesn’t get paid. What does happen is we aim to make it easy and affordable for people to see a lot of great bands and acts, in order to raise money and awareness for Oxjam and the good work it does.
The bands and venues are set – what we still need is some people to join the team and help out on the day.
There’s a variety of tasks that pop up and it can be random – that’s part of the beauty! Volunteers make it possible for the festival to take place and helping out gives valuable experience with working with the public, being involved with music events, music production and raising money for charities. The skills learned are also good to have on your CV. In addition you’ll be able to check out lots of great music!

We're having briefing sessions on Monday 9th and 10th October (soon!) at the Oxjam Music and Book Shop, 48 Upper St, islington, N1 0PN, at 7pm. If you’re interested please come along to one of these sessions, to find out more and meet the team.
