If you decide to volunteer with us:
Why we need your support:
Each shop needs a huge, talented and diverse team of volunteers to run successfully. The more volunteers we have the better service we can give to our loyal customers, the more stock we can put on offer and the more money we can make for Cancer Research.
What will you be doing:
Each shop is different and has its own amazing qualities, but requires the same volunteer duties. Each Shop Manager will try to rotate volunteers and give you a variety of duties these may include;
• Talking to customers and welcoming them to the shop
• Helping with sales on the till
• Helping customers and answering customer queries
• Tidy and cleaning the shop floor
• Removing and updating the shop floor stock
• Sorting through donations
• Steaming and tagging clothing
This should give you a small idea of what you’ll be up to in our shops. Our shops provide a fast paced and tough volunteering opportunity but it can be very rewarding.
What we ask from you:
We are always after new Volunteers and understand everyone volunteers for different reasons. We hope that we can suit your needs as much as possible. In return we look for enthusiastic people who are comfortable with a fast paced environment, happy to talk to people and be a Smiley face for our customers. We provide lots of training and support so no experience is needed, but if you have experience in customer service or retail that’s a great bonus. We also ask that you can commit to 2 hours + a week but we are flexible and understand your time is valuable.
What you’ll get out of volunteering:
• Become part of a community, you’ll make lots of new friends
• Full training and induction: we’ll always make sure you’re fully equipped for the tasks you’re involved in and feel comfortable doing them.
• See the difference you and your team make towards Cancer Research
• The opportunity to Study for an NVQ
• Strengthen your skills in; Fashion, Customer Service, Retail and even Admin.
