Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Volunteering Development Partner (C and S;) to join our team in London. The successful applicant will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a salary of £35,000 per annum.
Peabody and Family Mosaic have merged, creating a new housing association providing 55,000 homes to 111,000 people across London and the South East. Our combined scale and strong focus on London will uniquely position us to revolutionise housing delivery and redefine best practice – and you will be central to making it happen.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Volunteering Development Partner (C and S;) to work closely with Peabody's Care and Support Team to identify volunteering opportunities across our services for older people, vulnerable adults and tenants with additional support needs. You will work closely with Peabody’s Care and Support, Employment and Socio-Economic Regeneration Teams to champion volunteering as a route to employment for our service users, and develop strong support processes for transitioning our clients from volunteering into paid positions. You will also embed a culture of volunteering best practice in Care and Support and with the Volunteering Team more widely at Peabody and review, develop and strengthen Peabody's approach to befriending.
Knowledge/experience and skills required by the Volunteering Development Partner (C and S;):
- Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills.
- Proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity.
- Proven attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets.
- To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organization.
- A commitment to continuing professional development.
Volunteering Development Partner (C and S;) role specific:
- An understanding of the importance of volunteering, and how it can help people to improve their lives.
- experience of working within a quality framework.
- Knowledge of current volunteer related legislation.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Effective in building and maintaining strong working relationships across internal departments, external stakeholders, residents and clients.
- An ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of group work and facilitation skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong IT skills including Word and Excel.
- An understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunities, and the potential barriers faced by residents.
