Job Description
Actingworks a non-profit community group dedicated to offering activities for children and their families, working nearly for 7 years in Westminster is looking for volunteers who want to gain experience in education/childcare. We run an after school activities programme for children KS1 up from all backgrounds, all abilities and including special needs. It is wonderful fun and the children learn interpersonal skills.
If you could spare 90 minutes one or two afternoons a week this may be for you. You will be part of a team and receive guidance and supervision and training. It is a great opportunity for those needing a voluntary post to complement their studies, gain experience teaching children, wishing to add to their CV and/or those needing a reference.
About the role
We are located in W9 2DB and clubs run every day from 3:45 – 5 pm. The club in need of volunteers at the moment is the Drawing Club every Thursday.
At this club we make a variety of beautiful and fun arts activities with the children, using different materials. We must have a taste for art and be able to interact with the children and help them to develop their drawing and painting skills.
If you think that you have what it takes to be a great playworker and think that one of these clubs might be for you, we want to hear from you!
You must be a super cool teacher and do not be afraid to become a child for 60 min!
Special requirements:
• You must have an Enhanced DBS check, or be willing to cover the cost of taking one if accepted to the position.
• In order to receive a reference you should commit to volunteer for a period of at least 6 months.
• This is a Volunteer job position (UNPAID).
