Reel Rebels Radio is a 24/7 community radio station that has been broadcasting online since 2010. We offer a diverse schedule of music, documentaries and radio plays which encourage local people to tune in, participate and be heard. Our thriving radio station is situated at Reel Rebels Music Studio which also houses two fully equipped music rehearsal studios available for hire making it a hub for musicians, artists, radio presenters and DJs who want to rehearse, exhibit, perform and broadcast.
We're looking for people who have some sound tech experience, have an interest in radio, music and creative community projects and know their way around music/editing software. Volunteers should be able to commit to at least 2 afternoons/evenings a week, 4 hours a day, for 6 weeks and have their own laptop. We are looking for volunteers who have some experience in sound engineering (either studio, live gigs or making your own music), radio production or using music/editing software to assist the studio manager in running our community radio station and rehearsal rooms. We are looking for people who are computer literate and who might also have experience of uploading content to the back end of a website.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the production of radio broadcasts and editing shows
- Booking in DJs/presenters, bands and other artists
- Helping maintain the music rehearsal rooms/equipment.
- Assisting with daily tasks like uploading web content and updating our broadcasting schedule.
