The GT Scholars programme is a not-for-profit social enterprise that tackles educational inequality by helping young pupils from a range of backgrounds, gain access to the most selective universities and the most competitive careers. We give young people the support, skills and strategies they need to achieve their ambitions and we do this through our online tutoring sessions, as well as offline mentoring support and enrichment days.
We would love to hear from you if you are an undergraduate, a graduate or an experienced professional and can give up some of your time to meet young people and talk about your career or industry.
Meeting the students can be a highly rewarding experience. Many of the students are keen to meet undergraduates and graduates in their chosen fields and they are eager to know what it takes to work in different professions.
In order to become a mentor, you will need an enhanced CRB or DBS check and be able to meet with your mentee/mentees twice per term from September and June (6 meetings per year).
Mentors are also requested to attend an induction day and career evening in December and join us for the Annual awards ceremony in July. If you are would like to become a mentor, please send your CV and a brief cover note to the email provided.
