Purpose of Role:
To support people with sight loss to increase
independence through technology.
Main Tasks:
To support a person with sight loss to learn voice over technology using the Iphone.
To attend and participate in weekly Iphone training sessions focussing on voice over technology with a person who has sight loss.
To reinforce the skills gained in training by encouraging, supporting and motivating individuals to participate in regular organised practice sessions throughout the week.
To demonstrate patience, empathy and enthusiasm when supporting individuals with their learning
To note any barriers to learning and support the individual to discuss any issues with the trainer
To liaise with the Volunteer Coordinator on a weekly basis and provide progress updates

Flexible and reliable
An enhanced DBS check is required for this role and full induction and training will be provided.
Timings and Location:
This opportunity is based in Camberwell, South London but you may also need to travel to Euston on occasions.
We are seeking volunteers who can provide support 1.5 hours per session for 3 days per week
A 6 month minimum commitment required.
Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed if agreed in advance.
