About the opportunity:
Become a Marie Curie volunteer and help terminally ill people in your community.
Marie Curie is looking for volunteers across London to look after collections that happen during our Great Daffodil Appeal and Christmas collections campaigns.
The new host will greet the collectors throughout the day, hands over necessary resources to the collectors and then collects up at the end of each shift.
The money raised from each collection will then need to be counted and banked.
All money raised will help Marie Curie provide extra care and support, so people with terminal illnesses and their families can get the most from the time they have left.
This flexible role can fit around your usual activities. Full training will be provided and volunteer registration will be required.
Every £20 raised provides an hour of vital nursing care.
For more information, please contact Hannah Woolcott.
Thank you!
About Marie Curie UK:
We believe everyone living with a terminal illness should be able to get the most from the time they have left.
Marie Curie Nurses care for you in your home, when you need them most, day or night. Our hospices are at the heart of communities around the UK. And our trained volunteers and advisers are here for you when you don't know what to do next or just need to talk.
We'll be by your side with care and support every step of the way, bringing light in the darkest hours.
All of our services are provided free of charge to patients and families free of charge, but it costs the charity £20 for each hour of nursing care.
What are you looking for?
This is a very flexible role, which would only take up a couple of days a year.
It does however require some simple paperwork for which full training will be given.
Practical Considerations:
Marie Curie will pay for reasonable expenses incurred whilst undertaking this position.
