Job Description
Actingworks a non-profit community group dedicated to offer activities for children and their families, working nearly for 7 years in Westminster is looking for volunteers who want to gain experience in education/childcare. We run an after school activities programme for children KS1 and KS2 from all backgrounds, all abilities and including special needs. It is wonderful fun and the children learn interpersonal skills.
If you could spare 90 minutes one afternoon a week this may be for you. You will be part of a team and receive guidance and supervision and training. It is a great opportunity for those needing a voluntary post to complement their studies, gain experience with children, wishing to add to their CV and/or those needing a reference.
The Actingworks team is composed of a group of educators coming from different and fascinating backgrounds such as acting, dance, music, teaching, fitness, visual arts and tour guiding. The whole team shares a passion for learning and teaching, and we believe that the best way of doing this is through meaningful and fun experiences that will leave a positive imprint in our customers.
For this reason, Actingworks was created to provide educational and interactive activities for children, adults and anybody with an eager inner child. A friendly, interesting and fun way to get to learn, live and have fun in your city.
We need someone that can help with the management of the children at our school activities. You must love to be around children. We have clubs from Monday to Friday from 3:40 to 5 pm. You can volunteer in any of these days.
During the clubs we will need your help to do basic tasks such as collecting children from school, tidying up chairs and tables after the activities are finished, making sure we leave the area clean and tidy and helping to watch over the children, and then making sure that they are securely delivered to their parents.
You can choose which afternoon per week you would like to volunteer.
You must have an Enhanced DBS check, or be willing to take one if accepted to the position.
• In order to receive a reference you should commit to volunteer for a period of at least 4 months.
• This is a Volunteer job position (UNPAID).

• PLEASE NOTE: We can only consider applications from candidates who have the right to work in the UK.
To apply please send us your CV mentioning your availability for an interview. Serious applications only.
