Hi there,
We are a vegan independent business in Hackney, we run a cafe with a bakery and cater for private events and weddings. We are now looking for a Chef to join our team, we are happy to interview chefs at different stages of their carriers, from Head Chef to Chef de Partie. Immediate start, competitive salary for the right people and the opportunity to grow professionally in serene but yet fast paced environment.
We are looking for someone to work part time, your Rota could be something like this: Please note this is only an example.
Week 1: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (8/9am - 4/5pm)
Week 2: Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday (8/9am - 4/5pm)
Week 3: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday (8/9am - 4/5pm)
Week 4: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (8/9am - 4/5pm)
It's about 25 hours per week, with the option to do more hours when we cater for events. If you like the sounds of the job but you are looking for more hours, please get in touch anyway as we are also considering opening in the evenings and looking for someone who is happy to work on this new project with us.
If you are an ambitious chef who likes to experiment and work on new recipes this is the perfect job for you. experience with vegan food is desirable but not essential. Creativity is Essential. If you have good baking skills too then you might be the right person for this job!
We are looking for serious people, with a strong work ethic, who love cooking and be part of a team of lovely people.

These are some of your main duties:
The preparation and cooking of all food for daily sales.
Monitoring and guiding staff while working in the kitchen.
The preparation, cooking and delivery of food for.
Functions, private events, catering and similar.
Help with input of new menus, stocking and pricing.
Working closely with the line manager on all food related.
Issues.
To ensure food preparation areas are clean and tidy.
To ensure stock rotation and stock take are completed.
Daily and weekly ordering of all food related stock.
To ensure all equipment used is safe and clean,
Reporting any issues to the line manager.
To maintain a professional appearance while at work.
