We are an English family living in a lovely house in North Kensington. We have two lovely sons who are 4 years old 1.5 years old. The house has 5 bedrooms, with a spacious kitchen, sitting room and a nice garden. We are working parents leading busy lives, but family time is also very important to us. We are friendly and easy-going, and enjoy socialising with friends, travelling and weekends in the countryside. We also enjoy time at home and quiet evenings.
We are looking for an experienced female live-in Au Pair/ Junior Nanny ideally Spanish nationality to work 40 hours per week including two evenings of babysitting per week. The core hours are Monday to Thursday 8.45-5.45/6pm, then 3-4 hours on a Friday, but this might occasionally change so need someone that is flexible. Occasionally we might need help at the weekends requested in advance, but this would be paid as extra hours.
The main duties will be to take care of our youngest son on a day-to-day basis taking him to playgroups/ activities, playdates with friends, preparing meals and feeding, picking up our eldest son from nursery (starting school in September), and doing bath time. Apart from taking care of the children, we would expect the au pair to help with light housework, specifically keeping the children's rooms and play areas tidy, helping with the laundry/ occasional ironing and other related duties. This person needs to be tidy with good attention to detail.
Ideally the au pair will have a good level of English, and be willing to speak Spanish to the family. The nanny will be given a lovely private bedroom with wardrobe, chest of drawers, television and wifi connection. The au pair is welcome to use the facilities of the house including the kitchen, but must also respect the families own space and time with their family.
We are looking for an energetic, flexible, mature, independent, proactive person with a nice and calm temperament and good communication skills. Someone who is reliable, trustworthy and responsible. We want someone with good initiative, common sense and a can-do attitude. Ideally a good knowledge of London. Previous experience with young children is essential. Salary between £170-£200 dependent on experience, but please note this role is for au pair plus/ mother's help or junior nanny, not a nanny so the pay reflects that. Ideally the candidate would be Ofsted registered or be willing to apply for it, have First Aid training and DBS checked. Position to start as soon as possible Only serious applications, and look for someone to stay a year ideally.
