Alexander is a happy and endearing 10 year old boy who enjoys arts and crafts, Lego and cycling. Alexander has a severe speech and language disorder, sensory difficulties and dyspraxia. His fine motor skills is an area of constant development along with additional literacy and numeracy support.
Alexander will be starting a new school after the Easter holidays, so we are looking for someone to help with this adjustment period and support him during his after school routine. A key area of support will be encouraging his speech and understanding through play as well as continuing to promote his independence.
This job will suit someone who is fun, able to think outside the box, upbeat and positive. Alexander has a tendency to be very tired after school, so lots of encouragement will be needed!
This is a great chance to enhance your SEN knowledge and skills and be part of Alexander’s continued development and progress. There will also be an opportunity for the Support Worker to liaise with Alexander’s previous speech and Language therapist for additional training if needed. Additional hours can be made available during the school holidays.
