Role description
The role of the Transfers Guide is to meet and welcome incoming Kings Summer students and ensure a smooth transfer from the point of arrival to the centres.
To assist in departure transfers for Kings individual student ensuring their safe departure to their flight.
All Kings Summer students (individuals or groups) must be met by a Transfers Guide and individual students are supported on departures at the airport. Kings Summer centres have arrivals and departures mostly on Wednesdays and some on Sundays. The Transfers Guides will remain at the airports on Wednesdays and Sundays to assist the Transfers Manager in co-ordinating transfers effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To be present at a designated airport to co-ordinate the arrivals and departures of students.
To liaise with the Transfers Manager to ensure that flight and student information is always accurate and up to date.
To inform the relevant staff of any delays or problems that might arise.
To meet incoming students and make sure that they are escorted to their centre.
To inform the centres of approximate arrival times of the groups.
To check in and see off departing individuals.
To ensure the individual students are supervised and looked after at all times whilst in your care.
Person Specification
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
A mature commanding manner
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A willingness to work unsocial hours
Flexibility
Good time management skills
Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
Desirable attributes include:
Previous experience in Airport work
Previous junior summer camp/centre experience.
Hours of work
Your hours of work will be agreed with you each week by your line manager. Most of this work will take place on Wednesdays which will be a very long shift (minimum 8 hours – sometimes up to 14 hours) with some work on Sunday or other days depending on operational demands.
Remuneration Package
Basic pay per week £ 8.50 per hour at airport (travel times to and from work are not paid hours)
Holiday Pay: 12.07% to be accrued and paid in final salary.
Expenses: £10 per 8 hour period worked at the airport on days for food/drink and £5 for.
Phone expenses per day + all travel expenses to/from the airport.
