Trainee Installation Engineer Job

Place: South London, Greater London



Working with Installation Engineers training and assisting with the installation of electronic security systems in domestic and commercial properties. Installations will include: Intruder Alarms, Fire Alarms, CCTV (IP and analogue), Access Control, Audio and Video Entry and Lighting systems.  You will receive on-going training through both on-site and classroom-based training, developing your engineering skills in all fields.
Majority of work is carried out within the South of England.
Maintenance and Service repair work may be requested if required.
Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Installation, servicing and commissioning of all electronic security systems.
Daily work will include; installing devices and control equipment, running cable and containment, programming, working with full suite of products and communication devices, using electric tools and laptop, and working at height.
Work closely with supervising Installation Engineer ensuring that allocation of tasks and priorities are communicated effectively, and all tasks completed to company standards.
Provide excellent customer service, understanding customer’s expectations and requirements, presenting a positive and professional image to customers at all times.
Communicate with the Installations Desk, keeping on top of daily and weekly schedule and ensuring your time is managed efficiently.
Carry out reasonable requests from management.
Undertake independent work, which may involve commissioning, demonstration and handover of systems.
Consistently operate in a professional manner, providing reliable and quality service to customers and maintaining good communication with colleagues.
Complete engineer paperwork, handover certificates, checklist and PDA reports ensuring that it is correctly completed, and procedures are followed within the required timescales.
Work in line with the Company’s quality management system, industry standards and regulations and Health and Safety policy.
Understand the importance of GDPR and the protection of sensitive customer information.

Preferred Skills:

Have a good working knowledge of intruder alarms and some experience in the wider product range; CCTV, entry and access control systems and fire alarms. experience in the wider product range would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
Knowledge of electrical components such as relays and resistors, as well as ability to read multi-meters, continuity meters etc and be able to take and record readings.
Basic IT knowledge, e.g. Software installation into Windows Operating Systems, IP based systems and networking principles.
Demonstrate interest and basic knowledge of regulatory standards.
Presentable in person, vehicle and tools
Exemplary attendance and absence record
Valid driving licence
