Our client have immediate vacancies for Trainee Camera Operators to work on live sports outside broadcasts at racecourses in the North, Midlands and South. Please specify your preferred area.
As an experienced HGV driver, you will have primary responsibility for the safe driving of our clients OB vehicles. Additionally, you will be trained to operate race coverage cameras and OB operations including the safe rigging, operation and de-rigging of cameras along with hoist vehicles and other OB equipment. The role will also include a variety of general OB tasks to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of all technical services to our racecourses and broadcast partners. Candidates with the right approach can also learn other skills e.g. Photo finish, public address and presentation cameras.
You should have a minimum of 5 years’ HGV experience and a good understanding of driver regulations. Physically fit, you must be comfortable working at heights, in isolation and exposed to the elements, with strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and be part of a team. Knowledge of live sports broadcasting is desirable as is any with cameras, lenses or photography and ideally an interest or knowledge of horse racing; but willingness to learn and develop is key. You must also be prepared to travel and to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
