Workstream client – A UK leading Blind Specialist is looking for a Trainee Assembly Technician to join their growing company in London. Principle Responsibilities:-To ensure that:
To train and become competent in the assembly of manual rollers, vertical and motorised blindsTo ensure the disposal of waste materials and components are disposed of in the correct waste binsTo work within the teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of jobs allocated to the Assembly and Cleaning DepartmentsTo process and carry out works in accordance with the production and cleaning sheets Assumes responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your own work to be trained in the operation and use of assembly machinery including the roller cutting table, sewing machine, welding machine, saw and louver machineTo be trained and become competent in the use of the ultrasonic cleaning machinesTo follow clear and precise written and verbal instructionsTo be able to recognise all types of fabricsTo ensure all deliveries are received in accordance with company procedure and correct manual handling methods adopted All goods to be checked labelled and safely stored in the relevant racksTo organise the return of any faulty or damaged goodsTo ensure, by the close of business, that walk ways, work areas and the loading bays are clean and tidy and free from potential hazards as described in housekeeping duties sheetsTo attend tool box talks as and when required Ensure the wearing of appropriate PPE at all times whilst carrying out your various dutiesTo report all issues to the Production Manager or your SupervisorTo prepare all blinds ready for installation teams the day prior to scheduled installation.
Hours are 6.00 am to 3.30pm with regular overtime available on Saturdays, and the job is due to start immediately. The salary is £20,000 per annum.
