The Role

This will be a broad based accountancy role, both office based and with occasional onsite work with our clients, mainly dealing with a variety of compliance, corporation tax and bookkeeping activities, all of which underpin and support the successful running of our Clients’ own businesses.
The appropriate candidate will ideally already have some basic experience of bookkeeping or compliance work (VAT, payroll, company secretarial), a keen interest in developing their experience within a small team environment, and will be studying towards a formal accountancy qualification.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for managing routine ‘day to day’ bookkeeping requirements to a high standard for our Clients e.g. Sales, purchase and bank transactions etc.
• Responsible for managing monthly payroll processes for Clients and developing an excellent understanding and awareness of UK payroll requirements.

• Responsible for ensuring timely liaison with Clients to obtain the appropriate information prior to the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
• Involvement in the preparation of end of year statutory accounts as part of a rigorous client year end process.
• Involvement in the preparation of all supporting documentation and information as part of the Corporation tax process.
• Responsible for ensuring company secretarial administration is maintained up to date for all limited company Clients.
• Resolving queries and issues on behalf of our clients with HMRC from time to time.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining professional relationships with all Clients and internal staff.
• Ad hoc responsibilities for internal admin or development of processes and systems as necessary from time to time.

Candidate Requirements:

Key – Studying towards a career in accountancy, Professional and ‘can do’ attitude, Diligence, Passion for over delivering for Clients, Accuracy a key element along with a good attention to detail.

Other – Knowledge of Accounts software an advantage (SAGE 50, Xero, QuickBooks). Good excel knowledge, Keen to develop relevant experience, skills and career in a supportive environment,

Remuneration package:

Salary – £17,000 to £18,000 per annum, dependent upon experience.

Benefits – following 3 month Probation period includes Life cover, Pension, Study leave and/or support (as appropriate)

Annual Leave – 25 days per annum
