We are looking for a temporary live-in carer/companion for my elderly mother (physically disabled, mentally v alert) while her regular carer returns to NZ between Tues 2 May and Tues 6 June. The position would be based in both London and the Cotswolds. It is important you are a confident driver. The main jobs will be to help mum get up, washed and dressed; preparing meals; doing the washing and shopping; driving and accompanying on trips out; administering medication; and helping at bedtime. You will not sleep in the same room but will be on call in case needed in the night. You do not need to be a nurse but experience of helping people in a similar role is essential. We are looking for someone who has good handling skills, is practical, adaptable, kind and able to look out for what needs doing without always being asked.
Interviews will be on Wednesday this week (26 April) with the job starting the following Monday 1 May for a handover before the current carer leaves on holiday on Tues 2 May.
