TEFL QUALIFIED TEACHERS
ABC School of English is looking for a TEFL qualified teacher to join our team.
The position is to teach English as a foreign language using the Callan Method (a direct method, based on speaking). The Method was established in the 1960s and is very popular among students. It is a fun, fast way to teach. Full training provided. Full and part time positions available.
Location: Covent Garden, London
Applicants must be prepared to undergo an in-house training course. The training will last for three to five days, with paid employment starting immediately after, for successful applicants.
The training will involve watching experienced Callan Method teachers and teaching practice (among fellow trainees, not with actual students). Candidates must attend the full training course. We are looking to train now, with immediate start after successful training.
Acceptance on the training course does NOT guarantee a job at the end.
Paid employment for successful trainees will commence immediately after training.
All trainees, begin teaching part time, with ongoing training and gradually build to full time, if applicable, and if hours available. Full time is 7, 50 minute periods per day, Monday to Friday. Part time is every day but a reduced number of hours, usually 4 or 5.
The applicant MUST:
• Have English as a first language (native English speaker)
• Hold a recognised TEFL qualification (including 6 hours observed teaching practice)
• Hold a degree
• Have excellent pronunciation
• Be smartly turned out
• Have good communication abilities
• Have a desire to tackle challenges with flexibility and imagination
• Be based in London
There may be occasional work with students under 18 and as such an Enhanced DBS check is required. If you do not currently have this, we will require you to undergo this check. The current cost is £61.00, which will be payable by you. All job offers are subject to a clear DBS disclosure.
