Tea Room and Events Space Supervisor - Immediate start – 30 hours PW.
Tea Rooms with Pop Up Corner and events space.
A wide selection of teas and homemade cakes, alongside European dishes with a Caribbean twist. At weekends a full Caribbean brunch menu. We are vegetarian and vegan friendly, and all our food is made from scratch.
We are looking for a hardworking, fit, dedicated, punctual and reliable person to work in a small family ran events space and tea rooms in Brixton by Brockwell Park. You must be polite, well presented, willing to teach and be taught, extremely organised and have a can-do attitude. Previous food and serving experience is a must. This position suits someone who is looking for a permanent position and hoping to be a part of a growing business.
All our foods are made from fresh raw ingredients.
Your main daily duties will be:
Food prep
Serving customers
Opening up: opening the shutters, putting out tables and chairs, wiping down tables and generally getting the shop ready for services. (Daily check sheets will be supplied).
Development of food sales.
Supervising events.
Take away prep: Preparation of take-away dishes for customers.
Food prep: cakes, pastries, sorbets, main dishes and stock rotation.
Cleaning: fridges, tables, kitchen, floors, keeping prep area clean, cleaning windows and sweeping front of the shop on a daily bases.
Washing up and dishwasher: all washing up on shift.
Closing kitchen: cleaning, storage of food and prep for the following day.
Supervising weekend and evening staff.
All food is pre-cooked in the morning apart from made to order foods which is grilled.
You will work an average of 30 hours per week with 2 days off. Extra hours outside of your normal days/ hours may be required to cover holidays.
Your wage £7.75ph plus tips, your wage will be paid monthly.
20 Days paid holiday per year – 10 days allocated over Christmas (2 weeks) and 10 days throughout the rest of the year.
