Location - Holborn

Responsible for managing legal precedent documents, training and knowledge initiatives for the group. The key area of focus is to make knowledge easily available to the lawyers in the group with the aim of increasing the quality, consistency and cost effectiveness of the advice that the firm gives to its clients.

Knowledge Strategy

Support the development, implementation and communication of the knowledge strategy for the group.
Participate in global or central knowledge projects and initiatives as and when required.
Accurately gather and communicate market and technical knowledge.
Become the 'go-to' person for technical matters.

Legal Knowledge
Documents

Responsible for the collection, drafting, maintenance and updating of the group's precedents, sample documents and practice notes, to ensure that a comprehensive set of first class knowledge materials is accessible to all lawyers in the group.
Manage and sustain the group’s internal tax know-how system and knowledge pages on the firm's intranet, ensuring they are in line with firm standards, structured in an accessible way and kept up to date.
Prepare commentary to the group on relevant changes to tax law and practice.
Prepare regular updates or alerts which can be disseminated to clients.
Training
Help to ensure accessibility of high quality training materials by coordinating, preparing and capturing training.
Assist with preparation of materials for internal and external training events.
Responsible for the content of weekly group meetings in conjunction with the Tax Knowledge Partner.

Relationship Building

Lawyers
Develop relationships with lawyers in the group and facilitate the sharing of quality knowledge and experience.
Respond to queries from lawyers and track queries to identify knowledge and training needs.
Introduce lawyers and trainees joining the group to the group's knowledge resources.
Firm wide Community
Coordinate with other knowledge lawyers supporting the group and with knowledge lawyers supporting other practice/industry sector groups, sharing knowledge and best practices and encouraging the alignment of the group’s knowledge plans with those of other groups.
Participate in knowledge community initiatives.
Follow and encourage global practices and standards.
Help to establish a knowledge sharing culture within the firm and the group.
Help to develop and promote the firm’s knowledge systems and processes within the group and liaise with users to gather feedback.
Collaborate with the business services’ departments, including Marketing and Business Development, Learning and Development, Research and Library and IT.

experience Required

Relevant post qualification experience in a Tax practice of an international law firm.
A strong Tax technical background involving contribution to know-how or experience of a PSL or similar role in an international law firm.
