Role
You will work on an interesting and varied portfolio of both corporate and private client tax compliance work. As well as high net worth individuals the portfolio includes directors and their owner managed businesses, dealing predominantly with the owners’ personal tax affairs and those of the business. You will be expected to be involved in all aspects of the tax compliance work, but there will also be opportunity to identify and assist the managers and partners with advisory work as well as general accountancy. You will be supporting others in the team as necessary and producing timely work of a high quality focusing on accuracy and efficiency.
The successful candidate will assist with the provision of both tax compliance and advisory services to a mixed portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients. The role will include assisting with:
* preparing and submitting personal tax computations
* helping the department deliver a high quality service to our clients, and assisting with the transition to making tax digital
* dealing with HMRC matters on behalf of our clients
* researching and providing tax support on ad-hoc advisory projects.
* assisting in general accountancy tasks
Reporting
The Tax Trainee will report directly into the Director and Senior Manager.
Qualifications
Support and study leave for the tax qualification (ATT) will be provided, with potential to develop to Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA)
Successful candidate
The successful candidate must be:
* self-motivated, proactive and with an eagerness to learn
* numerate and confident with numbers
* be able to communicate confidently and have good verbal and written skills
* be able to meet the minimum BBC (or equivalent UCAS points) A level requirement with GCSE grade B or above in English Language and Maths.
