Tapa Tapa at Excel is looking to expand our team and we need an senior waiter or waitress to join us on the front of house team and help us make our guests feel at home in our Spanish restaurant. Although we are a Spanish restaurant the main language spoken is English and only those with good English ability should apply.
Our location at ExCel means we look after a diverse clientele attending event at the Exhibition and Event centre. We combine elegant design with authentic Spanish Tapas made by our Spanish team of chefs and a wide selection of native wines, Beers and drinks. Our front of house team deliver exquisite service and make sure that our guests love eating, drinking, relaxing and being in our restaurant. In short we aspire to be the best in the area and are looking for a talented individual to help make that happen.
The Role
We have a small team and you would be working closely with our General Manager Melissa, Assistant Merci and I to ensure the smooth running of the venue and look after our guests at the venue. As ExCel is an international venue we have a varied high quality clientele and as such hire individuals who are confident communicating with professional business people and have a naturally friendly personality.
Some of the duties are are as follows:
Look after our guests and take pride in making them return to our awesome restaurant
Be a key part of the friendliest FOH team in the area
Ensure we operate a safe and spotlessly clean venue
Serve customers and deal with reservations and event bookings.
Handle customer compliments and complaints.
Accepting deliveries of products and consumables.
Open and close venue.
Be a recognisable face of the business.

experience
Please only apply if you have significant experience working in a UK chain or independent restaurant and speak excellent English. This role would suit an existing water/waitress looking for a new challenge in a smaller company where you can truly make a difference.
Pay Rates
The role pays £8 basic per hour when starting and also earns significant gratuities.
