We are a very active Family living in Woodside Park (nr. North Finchley). We have three children aged between 11 and 17 and are looking for a mother’s help or live-out au pair, able to start in September. We live close to Woodside Park underground station and there are many local buses.
We are looking for someone fun to be around. You also need to be well organised and pro-active. We have a Polish housekeeper/cleaner coming twice a week (10 hours in total), but you will have to be willing to do some housework as well as and when required.
Your main duties will include making sure that the children do their homework, cooking the family meal, making the children' lunches for the next day, looking after the laundry (including some ironing), keeping the kitchen clean, general tidying, and some driving from school/to activities as and when required.
We will only know in September what the exact timetable of the children is, but we know that you will work Monday to Friday about 2- 3 hours each day and Fridays 4-6 hours. On some days, you will start at 3:20pm, on others at 4:30pm, Fridays usually at about 2pm or 3 pm.
As most of your time will be in the kitchen, it would be great if you have some experience with cooking. Also, it is important that you are willing to learn how we would like the food to be prepared, as we cook gluten free and hygiene is also a key focus.
Finally, it is important that you are a confident and experienced driver and have your own car, as there are a few local activities that we would like you to drive the children to, generally between Home and School (Potters Bar).
Your hourly rate will be 12 pounds per hour + any petrol expenses.
If you are not fazed by a multi-tasking job, you are most certainly the right person to interview and we are really looking forward to hearing from you! Verifiable references as to character and driving will be required. You must also be completely fluent in either of English OR German. Additional knowledge of Polish would be a plus.
