Firefly Education is seeking a special education teacher with experience in the early years to work with a boy (4) with speech and language delays, as well as delays in early learning goals, for the summer.
The family lives in Hampstead, has a country home, and will holiday in Greece. They would like a teacher to live with them for 7-8 weeks this summer to work on early learning goals, social skills, play skills, and his language all in fun, play based activities. This is a flexible arrangement so could involve live-out whilst the family is in London and then your own room or hotel room depending on if you are in the country or Greece.
Days would involve planning constructed and free play sessions including swimming, jumping on the trampoline, and games. Structured sessions will include turn taking with his sister, working on sequencing, and language games.
Ideally the parents would like someone to work with their son from 13th of July until the end of August, if not the entire time as much as possible.
The boy works well with energetic, fun people who get down to his level and have a great time with him.
Candidates shall:
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Have a clear DBS
• Have clear written and spoken English
• Have experience working with children in the early years
• Have experience working with children with special needs
• Ideally be a teacher, but a SLT or other related professionals considered
• Be able to work this summer including travel to the country and Greece with the family.
