Fight Global Warming and Poverty in the Caribbean and Ecuador
Richmond Vale Academy offers a B-certificate in “Fighting with the Poor” in St-Vincent and the Grenadines.
The B-certificate is an 18 months program, with theoretical and practical studies at the Academy and with a Service period in community development projects, both in the Caribbean and in Latin America. The program is a cooperation between Richmond Vale Academy, One World University and Humana People to People.
The program:
- 6 months of training in Richmond Vale Academy to become a Development Instructor: study about causes and conditions of poverty, global warming, health, inequality, the future of the Poor and Latin American studies. Practical training in sustainable farming, renewable energy, water management plus improvement of leadership and management skills.
- 6 months of Service in a Community Development project in Ecuador or Belize with Humana People to People. Living and working shoulder to shoulder with the poor while serving the needs of rural communities and improving the conditions of the people living there.
- 6 months of Journal at Richmond Vale Academy: sharing experiences, producing publications about your experiences, working in Vincentian communities, finalizing studies and exams as well as training new Development Instructors. Graduation and planning your future work with the Poor.
As you train to become a development instructor you will be challenged to build your capacity and increase your understanding of the world. You will learn about empowering the poor to create a sustainable future.
Requirements: A high school degree and a decent knowledge of the English language.
Programs start April and October.
