Hey!
We're Native Eat, and we're looking for a brand new Chef/Grill King or Queen/Kitchen Hand for primarily our pop-up residency in Fitzrovia at the George and Dragon part-time for the next 4 months on Thursday, Friday and some weekends, however we are also commencing other residencies throughout the summer and have up-coming pop-up events and street-food markets where you will be needed too.
A little bit about us.we use locally sourced, sustainable and seasonal produce. Right now our focus is on gourmet sub sandwiches with a British twist. Our current menu is attached but we will be having specials and changing it every now and then.
We're all about slow and low cooking, BBQing and smoking. We make all our own sauces, marinades and pickles with all the freshest produce we can get our hands on.
We're really looking for an experienced grill chef ideally, with a passion for food and experience in all elements of the kitchen. Prep and service speed is essential as we have a really quick turn-around of covers and we're looking to increase it further.
Other duties/attributes include cleaning and pot washing, Fryer clean and oil change, receiving and unpacking deliveries, prepping and cooking to a high standard, ability to follow recipes/instruction, follow health and safety guidelines, ability to work alone or in a team and general kitchen management. We're really looking for someone that can use their initiative and common sense.
The successful applicant must be self employed as we pay cash in hand, and also hold a full, clean UK drivers license as there will be various events where we will need you to drive the company van or food truck.
You will receive a full two weeks training, we'll pay for you to complete the online level 2 Health and Safety assessment (if you already have this you will need to provide the certificate), and a short practical test will be given at the end of the two weeks just so we know you're up to speed. On completion of this, then we'll be frequently entrusting, once you are comfortable to run the kitchen solo on Thursday and Fridays. Most importantly we want good vibes!
We'll be offering £10/hour for the right guy or girl, free staff food and drink, 50% discount on food for friends and family, and a chance to have some fun and run your own place. Hours on Thursday and Friday are 10am to 9pm.
