We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Staff Reporter / Journalist that has experience writing and producing news, features, interviews and analysis pieces.
For more than 35 years, the Company has been providing high-quality business intelligence to the Aerospace and defence markets, through a combination of magazines, handbooks, and online news and subscription services.
Working as the Staff Reporter / Journalist you will be expected to produce news, features, interviews and analysis pieces for the magazines and online web portals.
As the Staff Reporter / Journalist you will also be required to cover relevant trade shows and events; and help produce video content.

DUTIES
Your duties and responsibilities as the Staff Reporter / Journalist:
• Writing copy for hard copy and online, working with the editors to ensure online news content is as strong as possible.
• Helping the editor with the production of the magazine – finding images, writing captions and editing contributor articles, ensuring copy is accurate, Libel-free, and conforms to house style, set lengths and formats.
• Developing a network of contacts and knowledge of the Aerospace and defence sectors.
• Helping to develop digital offerings, including blogs, video interviews, podcasts and social media channels.
• The creation of an individual Company social media presence to engage with the readership and promote the Company’s digital products.
• Development of video production skills, both behind and in-front of the camera.
• Representing the Company at various press events and exhibitions as required.
IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• University degree (or equivalent) and/or relevant journalism training preferred but not essential.
• experience in reporting/editing in a B2B newsfeed or magazine environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work to daily and weekly deadlines, filing copy on time for both the website and magazine.
• experience writing B2B news stories and features, and a demonstrated ability to interview senior industry executives.
• Ability to travel overseas to cover key trade shows and events.
• Knowledge of the Aerospace/defence sector is an advantage but not essential.
