We are looking for after school care for our 11 year old son with ASD (H/F), ADHD and sensory dyspraxia. We also have 8 year old daughter with no special needs and lots of positive, happy energy.
The son has just started secondary school and the change has brought a lot of anxiety and need to relax and feel comfortable coming home from school. As such, the person needs be calm, patient, resilient and with either direct experience with the ASD / ADHD / disabilities (someone close in family they grew up with / looked after) or LSAs, trainee OTs SLTs Physio. Someone who will not be phased off with frustrations and communication problems typical for ASD (even high functioning ones).
He is very bright, creative and reads a lot and likes to discuss various topics he reads about.
We also have a little puppy on the way to join our household! So the person needs to love dogs too :)
The provision is needed 3 times a week (we can be flexible what days between Mon-Thu and it could be set days or mixed days) between 3:30 (pick up of younger daughter from local primary school), son comes by car around 4:15 and until 6:30/7pm.
