Hello !
We are a small privately owned independent boutique hotel near Notting Hill Gate. We have vacancy for a special person to fill the job title advertised. The work is based on a shift Rota system, from 7am to 3 pm or 3 pm to 11pm over 40 hours per week to include weekends (though not all the time).
We are a small highly dedicated team, supportive of each other, who go out of our way to help our loyal and delightful international clientele make the most of their time in London. We don't have a large F and B operation although we serve breakfast, therefore this is predominantly a rooms led business.
Our General Assistant is a key member of our team who is required to work across 3 disciplines :
1. Breakfast service: serving our customers and tidying up the kitchen, then making sure the housekeepers have everything they need in their stock rooms, This is required for 2 possibly 3 shifts from 6.30 am to 2.30pm.
2. Reception cover: from 3pm to 11 pm : We will train you on how to manage a front desk, from taking reservations to greeting clients and being a helpful and reassuring person to help our guests make the most of their stay with us. This is required for 1 or possibly 2 shifts. Note you must be comfortable managing a small reception on your own.
3. Night Reception cover: from 11 pm to 9 am. We will show you how the night operation ties up the end of one day and prepares us for the new business day. You will be in charge of the hotel during the night, ensuring the safety and security of the premises ( it's really not that large a place ), take some deliveries, and be a friendly face to greet our guests in the evenings and when they leave the next morning. This function also requires you to work on your own.
We seek someone who is charming, willing to help others, serious but with a sense of humour, well presented and well spoken. The key to success this vacancy is a positive can-do attitude. Someone who wants to see the "whole picture" of how a small business is run. Above all someone who can be trusted, who comes to work when they are supposed to, not just because it's a job but because they are passionate about the business and the people they work with.
We are receiving CVs now and will commence interviews shortly once we have a shortlist.
Even if you don't have previous experience but have the characteristics we are looking for, we are happy to meet you, providing you can show the commitment and enthusiasm for this role. Salary starting at £8.50 per hour negotiable so please get your application in, if you wish to be considered for this vacancy.
Please note we do require you to have a fairly good level of English and to be able to demonstrate a level of commitment or consistency in your previous roles. In line with employment legislation you must be able to work legally and have a NI number and your own bank account.
Thank you !
