Sova are currently recruiting an Admin Support Volunteer to work within Bexley borough, to help support the administration processes to ensure the smooth running of the project.
The Orbit Project focus on local people supporting them get back into the community and help them get over any barriers they may be facing.
A lot of our clients lack confidence, have low self-esteem, lead chaotic lives and have behavioral/emotional needs. They could need support in keeping up with their tenancy, improving their skills to get back into work or building personal relationships etc.

Our passionate staff team and national network of committed volunteers deliver a range of services including:
Supporting mental health, emotional wellbeing, risk taking behaviours and family relationships;
Advocacy, befriending and mentoring for children, young people and families ;
Rehabilitation and mentoring packages for juvenile and adult offenders, addressing dependency, mental health, housing and employment needs;
Supporting those furthest away from the labour market back into work, education or training
Housing and tenancy support to reduce likelihood of homelessness and reduce anti-social behaviour;
Working in partnership with Local Authorities to deliver statutory public services including Appropriate Adult provision and Independent Visitors for looked after children.
This is an exciting and fulfilling opportunity for those that wish to support with an organisation they feel passionate about. No experience needed.
The role of an Admin Support Volunteer would involve tasks:
• To maintain and update information databases as required
• To deal with telephone enquiries, taking messages, transferring calls and receiving visitors, filing, scanning, photocopying and record keeping.
• To work alongside other partner agencies maintaining and encouraging effective work.
• To assist with communications with potential volunteers and service users, and enquiries from the general public and other service providers (via telephone, mail or email).
• Attend promotional events
You will need to be able to work on Microsoft Word and Excel, and share the same values as Sova; PASSION / FOCUS / INTEGRITY / FAIRNESS.
Practical Considerations
• You must be 16 years old and above to apply
• Full training is provided as part of the recruitment process
• All volunteers have the opportunity to complete the Certa accredited training
• Please note that having unspent convictions will not necessarily prevent you from becoming a Admin Support Volunteer
