The Talbot Pub and Dining Room is looking for a Sous Chef to join our team. Previous experience in gastropub environment is preferred and a good level of spoken English is essential. Our menu changes monthly and we prepare everything in house.
As Sous Chef you will be responsible for running the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, this means you will need to be comfortable taking control of ordering and stocks, and managing all health and safety aspects of the kitchen, as well as opening and closing. This role would suit someone who has experience and wants to learn more and move up to the next level. We are a well established company with opportunity for progression.
We offer an excellent salary dependent on experience.
Up to £35k per annum
5 shifts per week
Role / Candidate:
You will…
• Have previous experience as a Sous Chef in a gastropub environment for more than 2 years.
• Have good timekeeping and a sense of urgency in service.
• Deliver consistent food with excellent presentation and quick and efficient service.
• Have excellent organisational skills.
• Be self-motivated and efficient.
• Be able to manage a small team.
• Be presentable, tidy and communicate professionally with management and staff.
• Be aware of health and safety regulations and uphold high standards of food hygiene.
• Keep your stock and wastage under control and your kitchen immaculately clean.
• Have at least Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate.
• Be responsible for the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
