Are you a smoker? Ex-smoker? Vaper? Heat-not-burn (e.g. IQOS) user? If so, we need YOU to take part in our study at UCL. Take part and receive £20 Amazon VOUCHER(S)*! If eligible, participation will involve up to two laboratory sessions (30-60 minutes) at UCL, 1-19 Torrington Place, near Goodge Street tube station (London, WC1E 7 HB).
We want to investigate the possible health effects of using novel nicotine and tobacco-containing products compared with smoking conventional cigarettes. To do this, we want to assess what potentially harmful chemicals enter the bodies of people using these products compared with those not using these products.
We're looking for:
- Current smokers (who have smoked tobacco cigarettes for at least 6 months) (for two 30-60 min sessions).
- Ex-smokers (who now vape, i.e. Use e-cigarettes) (for one 30-60 min session).
- Ex-smokers (who now use heat-not-burn products, e.g. IQOS) (for one 30-60 min session).
Criteria:
- Males and females; aged 18 + years; must NOT be pregnant; must NOT have any heart- or lung-related diseases.
You should be willing to answer questions about your health and provide a urine sample, heart rate and breath measurements.
Participation is paid* with one £20 Amazon VOUCHER per session. You may reclaim travel expenses of up to £5 per session, if you provide a valid receipt.
