A fantastic opportunity has arisen in a growing accountancy practice in Sutton, South London. We specialise in providing accountancy, tax and payroll services to sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
Mandatory Requirements
- Working experience at a UK based accounting practice
- Length of experience to be at least 18 months. Salary would depend on the experience level.
Job role
The role involves dealing with the jobs of both UK based and international clients in both the production and the service industries.
Summary of the Job Description
1. Bookkeeping and VAT
a) Bookkeeping up to the point of closing trial balance and final accounts preparation stage.
b) Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and filing them with HMRC
2. Self Assessment Tax Returns
b) Preparation of self-assessment tax returns and electronic filing with the HMRC.
Technical competencies required
a) Fundamental double entry knowledge
b) Fundamental knowledge in accounting standards.
c) General knowledge in tax.
d) Knowledge in VT and Xero for bookkeeping purposes and reporting.
e) Good working knowledge of MS Excel
f) Knowledge in VT, Taxcalc, Quick Books and Moneysoft software packages would be beneficial.
Other qualities required
a) Communication skills at all levels (Involving clients and the internal staff)
b) Good command in written and spoken English
c) Eagerness to learn and improve themselves continuously.
Education
a) ACCA part qualified or AAT (Affiliate or someone studying towards these)
General:
Salary range: salary is dependent on experience
Days per week: 2/3 days per week.
Probation period: 3 months
