Ice and Fire are a small independent Chalet company based in La Plagne France. Set up in 2007 we have been providing quality catered Chalet holidays to hundreds of guests many of whom return year after year.
As a small independent operator we put a lot of effort into finding and training our team as we know they are the key to our success, we also provide a package and the personal support that many other companies just can't provide. We are looking for dedicated hard working professional people to provide the best service possible to our guests.
The successful applicants will get to spend 5 months in the French alps living and working in a ski resort and having the experience of a lifetime.
Our roles are open to couples and single applications
Chalet Chef
From cooking and cleaning to food ordering and budgeting/stock control, you will be jointly responsible for the efficient and smooth running of the Chalet.
The Chalet chef role involves providing a cooked and continental breakfast, homemade afternoon tea and delicious, well presented four-course evening meal 6 nights a week. The focus is on restaurant quality cooking and presentation, in a relaxed homely environment.
The successful applicant will have proven professional cooking experience; a food hygiene qualification and experience of menu planning, kitchen cleaning, budgeting and cooking for people with dietary requirements.
Chalet Host
Working alongside the Chalet chef you will be the life and soul of the Chalet, looking after the guests and the property. The word flexibility sums up this role and you might find yourself doing anything from booking ski school to helping children with their boots.
As a Chalet host you are responsible for cleaning and tidying the Chalet, serving meals, clearing snow and some basic maintenance, responding to guest requests and making your guests feel welcome and happy.
The successful applicant will have relevant cleaning and customer service experience along with plenty of enthusiasm and a professional approach to their work. Ski season experience or French language skills are advantageous.
Maintenance/Driver
Responsible for the day to day maintnenance of the chalets and keeping everything running smoothly. You will also be helping out with the logistics of a Chalet company. Flexibility is the one word that sums up this role you will need to be a jack of all trades and able to think on your feet and work independently. The role involves significant amounts of driving in the snow and so the more relevant driving experience the better. Previous trade/relevant experience is a must for this role.

• Outgoing, approachable, confident, responsible, friendly.
• Dynamic. Hardworking. Nothing is too much trouble attitude.
• Excellent timekeeping and teamwork.
• Excellent social skills, able to interact well and create an ambience.
• High standards of personal hygiene/appearance.

• UK NI number and work history.
• UK Address and bank account.
• EU Passport – no working visas.
